PAINT OSWEGO
PAINT OSWEGO GRANTS WILL BE AVAILABLE JANUARY 2025
"I took advantage of this program last year....you can't miss! My house looks brand new!" -- Tanya Miller, W. 4th Street
The Paint Oswego Program
The Paint Oswego Program offers grants to homeowners to use a freely available set of 50 historical color palettes, yielding 250 historic color combinations for houses in Oswego built before 1940. These color palettes were assembled by historic color consultant Robert Schweitzer, of Historic House Colors (HHC). They are based upon the actual historic colors that were used in Oswego neighborhoods in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Property owners in the City of Oswego can apply for a MATCHING grant award (up to $1000) towards the purchase of the labor or materials or both, if the property owner uses one of the color combinations in the Oswego Historic Color Palette. The matching grant is 1:1 (dollar-for-dollar). For every dollar spent on painting, the ORA will match it. If $1200 is spent by the property owner, they get $600 back. If $2000, or more, is spent by the owner, they get $1000 back from the ORA. There are a total of 20 grants available. NOTE: Paint Oswego grants can be combined with the Renaissance Block Challenge Grant for an even greater reimbursements (up to $2000). Please see the Renaissance Block Challenge page to see if you would like to apply for this grant as well.
